Worship For Change Disburses N3m Raised From Concert To Beneficiaries

On Thursday, 6th March 2014, Worship for Change in furtherance of her social entrepreneurship effort, directly and positively affected the lives of over 120 orphans and children with special needs.

Last year, the Worship for Change benefit concert held at The Shell Hall of the Muson centre on Sunday October 21st , 2013. Artistes that performed before a packed hall at this event were Bob Fitts, Muyiwa Olarewaju, Flo, Freke Umoh, PITA and Psalmos.

Funds raised at the concert was in excess of Three million naira (N3m) and is being disbursed today as follows to the following two beneficiaries:

-Centre for Destitute Empowerment, Idimu, Lagos founded by Pastor Samson Okolikowhich caters for 82 children – orphans and kids with special needs. They will receive a cheque of N1.55 million.

-God’s Will Orphanage, Ayingba, Kogi State founded by Mrs. Elizabeth Opanachi. They currently take care of 45 children. They will receive a cheque of N1.55 million.

Since 2006, the Worship For Change yearly concerts helped to raise tremendous awareness and over N20 million to provide support for thousands of children cared for by charities the following charities:

- Arrows of God orphanage, Ajah
- Patrick Speech and Language centre, GRA Ikeja
- Hephzibah Orphanage, Badagry
- Society for the Safety of the Insane and Destitute (SO-SAID)

- Temitayo Awosika Help Foundation, Ilupeju
- Badagry and Ikorodu Sickle Cell clubs.
- LOTS Charity Foundation, Dustbin Estate, Ajegunle
- Downs’ Syndrome Foundation of Nigeria
- Jesus Children Mission Outreach, Ibadan
- Leprosy Mission Nigeria
- Total Child Educational Foundation, Surulere
- Calvary Ministries, Lagos
- Cerebral Palsy Centre, Surulere
- Raco child and rural care, Ibeju, Lekki

WHAT?! Kenyan Pastor Advices Female Members Against Wearing Underwears

RedPepper.co.ug – A ‘Pastor’ in Kenya, Reverend Njohi has introduced a form of worship at his Lord’s Propeller Redemption Church in which female members of the congregation are banned from wearing underwear so God can enter their bodies easily.

After a recent meeting of the church’s elders, to debate the matter Reverend Njohi passed an edict banning the wearing of bras and panties when attending service.

Defending the law, Reverend Njohi claims that when going to church, people need to be free in body and spirit to receive Christ. Describing the wearing of underwear to church by women as ungodly, Reverend Njohi warned his members of dire consequences if they secretly did so.

According to one of the church’s members, last Sunday, all the female members of the congregation came to the service without any panties or bra as the pastor ordered. Mothers were advised to check their daughters when coming to church on Sundays so as to ensure they obey the edict and can receive Christ too.

Reverend Njohi’s church is located in Dandora Phase Two, an eastern suburb of Nairobi, which was listed by the Blacksmith Institute as one of the most polluted sites in the world. Following the passing of the edict, local Dandora residents frog marched one of the senior pastors to the church where they ordered him to open its doors. They stole money and the pastor’s mobile phone and the walls and windows of the church were badly vandalized.

Woah! Mary Mary New Season Premier Records About 1million Viewers

WE tv said Thursday night’s season-three return of original series Mary Mary approached the 1-million total viewers mark, up 62% over the season-two premiere of the show about singing siblings Erica Campbell and Tina Campbell, according to Nielsen Fast National figures that are typically subject to change.

WE tv said the show also had significant gains among adults 18-49 (up 59% to 582,000) and adults 25-54 (up 55% to 566,000.

“We’re extremely proud of this amazing viewer response to the return of Mary Mary, on the heels of the finale of our newest hit, SWV Reunited,” Marc Juris, WE tv’s president and general manager, said in a release.

“The network has strong momentum with both new and returning shows and it all starts with compelling programming viewers want to watch.”

Mary Mary ranked #2 on Social Guide among primetime cable reality shows for Thursday night, with Twitter comments up +20% over the season two premiere, WE tv said.

Fred Hammond LIVE in Ghana For Freedom Concert March 15

American gospel artiste Fred Hammond is scheduled to be in Ghana on March 15th 2014. The concert which is put together by Springs of Joy Multimedia will also feature celebrated Ghanian gospel acts Cwesi Oteng and Mary Gansah.

The concert which will be Fred Hammond’s first major concert in West Africa since his appearance at the 2012 edition of The Experience in Lagos, Nigeria.

Freedom Concert as the concert has been christened will hold on March 15th at 5pm. The venue for the event is the Accra Sports Stadium.
