The movie Noah has been banned from several middle eastern countries for depicting Christian Religious Figures.
The censorship board in Qatar, Bahrain and United Arab Emirates has informed paramount pictures that they will not be releasing the film.
Jordan, Kuwait and Egypt are expected to follow suit stating that the movie offends Islamic teachings and the feeling of the faithfuls
The director of the upcoming Bible epic recently shot down rumors that the movie had caused controversy for himself and paramount pictures.
According to the Director, Darren Aronosfsky,”there isn’t any controversy with the movie” He made this statement at an art exhibition which held recently in New York.
Aronosfsky who also directed “Black Swan” and “The wrestler” added that he made the film for both believers and non-believers and was especially interested in challenging any preconceptions that the latter might have about watching a religious movie.
The movie stars Russell Crowe, as the lead character “Noah” while Jennifer Cononelly starred as his wife “Naamah”
Also staring is Emma Watson who plays the role of “ILa” Noah’s Daughter In Law
The movie would be premiered in theater on the 28 of March.
