CALIFORNIA FAMILY RACES AGAINST TIME TO SAVE LITTLE GIRL'S LIFE

Jahi(Oakland, CA)-Jahi McMath's family is fighting for her life, literally.
The 13-year-old was declared brain dead by doctors after a routine tonsillectomy on December 9th. Ever since, Jahi's family has held out hope and faith that she will return to them, while the hospital plans to take her off of life support.
Now Jahi's family is hoping to move her from the Oakland hospital to a medical facility for long-term care, however, the girl must undergo a tracheotomy and have an implanted feeding tube prior to the move. That is something officials at Children's Hospital are refusing to do.
JahiAn Oakland judge ruled on Tuesday that the hospital could remove Jahi from life support after December 30th at 5pm.
Jahi's uncle, Omari Sealey told reporters, "You don't want her, that's fine. We have a place that does want her, that wants to keep her alive. So help us get her out of your hospital so we can take her somewhere else where someone wants to help us keep her alive."

BRITISH PM: COUNTRY SHOULD BE THANKFUL FOR CHRISTIANS

David Cameron's Christmas message to the British lauded the presence of Christianity in the nation and appealed to his countrymen to appreciate Christians.

(United Kingdom)—British Prime Minister David Cameron delivered his Christmas message this week in which he heaped praise on Christians who are an integral part of what he calls the "Big Society." The following are excerpts from that message:
"Christmas gives us a space when we can consider the things that we value most—family, friends and fellowship," he said. "It is a time for being hopeful for the coming year and to reflect on the one that has passed…

"There are those millions who keep on strengthening our society too—being good neighbors, running clubs and voluntary associations, playing their part in countless small ways to help build what I call the Big Society. Many of these people are Christians who live out to the letter that verse in Acts, that 'it is more blessed to give than to receive.' These people put their faith into action and we can all be grateful for what they do.

David Cameron"As Christians prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, we should also take time to think of all those alone or suffering at this time of year. I would like to pay particular tribute to the many people, churches and charities who will be looking after those who are alone or homeless this Christmas time."

For me, this season is also a time to think about the meaning of Christmas—the birth of Jesus Christ and the hope that gives to millions. In Handel’s Messiah, these words from the Prophet Isaiah are brilliantly put to music: "His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.

With peace in mind, I would like to say thank you to our brave service women and men who are helping bring peace here and around the world; to their families who cannot be with them; and to all the dedicated men and women in the emergency and caring services who are working hard to support those in need this Christmas.
