With the advent of TAPE (The African Praise Experience) we knew something new was beginning to happen in the gospel music scene in Nigeria. After Successfully hosting “The Experience” for 7 years, which has come to be the biggest Gospel Concert on this side of the world, Pastor Paul went on to start the African version of the experience making it a periodic event. And with the amount of audience TAPE has gathered in the few editions this year, we see a future were the gospel music will subdue secular music.
According to the interview granted to Sun News he made it clear that most of the artist in the Secular industry were groomed in the church, but left the church to use their talent in the world. This is how he puts it “These are talented artistes in their own rights and are making waves with the gifts that were originally given to them by God but you will agree with me that very little of that gift is presently being used to serve the cause of God’s kingdom in the earth today,’’
And from the inside scoops we are getting from around the Man of God, he has alot of plans going on for the Gospel music industry which includes establishing a Record label which he has already mentioned in church during one of his services. The Cathedral along the Lekki – Ajah Expressway boasts of high-end state of the art media facilities that would be used to promote the gospel and according to him ”establish the Kingdom of God on earth”.
We look forward to better days in the Gospel music industry and with the massive involvement of pastors the future is bright.
